From Mrs. Lund’s 1st-3rd Grade Newsletter September 30, 2024 Thank you to our OLV families that successfully finished the harvesting at the community garden last Friday after school. Since June several OLV families have dedicated their Wednesday evenings during the summer to plant, weed, water, tend and finally harvest vegetables at the Trinity Lutheran Community Garden. This has been a ten year outreach ministry for our students to provide fresh vegetables to the Palmer Food Bank. God asks us to KNOW, LOVE and SERVE Him. The goal of this OLV ministry is to provide an opportunity for students to actively demonstrate the Corporal Works of Mercy, “Feed the Hungry”. Three hundred pounds of potatoes were harvested and washed. Bags of broccoli and cabbage and other vegetables will make their way to the tables of our families in need. Attending the final “weed and feed” event were the following individuals: Sarah, Hilda and Heidi Eppihimer, grandparents Dennis & Carol Eby, Adalynn and Jack, Fabiola & Jaime Lopez Garcia, Max and Marin, April and Abigail Andrews, Glenna, Dina and Owen Lambert, and Karl & Joyce Lund. A pizza meal was served to all in attendance furnished by Trinity Lutheran Church and Karl Lund.
